Oasis bag flowers

Oasis bag flowers

19/10/06

The tulips have been a disappointment. They did not, as they should, die eloquently; no twisted stems and no fallen petals. They simply collapsed and hung there, not even rotting. No swan song.

02/10/2006 Monday

Started the first of the tulip drawings. Varying and wonderful side light in the white space.
The intention is to do one a day and see what comes of it and the flowers. With the help of Niamb and two KK workmen we put up the paper. These unrolled long sheets were stapled to the walls. The height seemed right but once the drawing got underway it became clear that the wall surface was not smooth enough.
