One of the benefits of working in the Arts Office has been the people who have come in to visit and talk and in the case of Christy, allowed me to draw him. In my own studio I would not have have the chance to meet people. The residency has given me masses of material to take back to my studio as reference for future work.

Where has the time gone? We are into our last few weeks of our residency and the studio spaces have filled up with work in progress and ideas that we won’t get finished, but they are there for the future. This week I completed a stitch project, using the buttonhole stitch on some tree branches, working on the idea of embalming and capillary. It is my first mini installation since first year in college, and I enjoyed it, so may there be many more. . Deirdre
